The Austrian LEADER project, entitled “The Street of Master Craftsmen” came into being gradually, in three steps. Within its framework, small enterprises and handicraftsmen organised themselves into a network. The network carries out effective marketing activities and with the organisation of joint stands, markets, exhibitions etc., it opens up new markets for network participants. The 155 members of the network not only make the most of the opportunities presented by collaboration in tourism, but develop and modernise the image of handicrafts, motivate each other and induce healthy competition.
