We established the new cost- and environment-saving fertilisation consultation system of the Hungarian Academy of Science’s Research Institute for Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry and its Agricultural Research Institute (MTA TAKI – MTA MGKI), based on the correlations produced by adjusted domestic field fertilisation experiments carried out over the past 40 years. We tested it in 2004-2006 in field experiments (similar to those for new species and hybrids) on characteristic domestic soils, using indicative autumn wheat, corn and spring barley plants, with funding from the World Phosphate Institute (IMPHOS). The Talajerőgazdálkodás Kkt’s system, associated with the name of József Horváth, and even more so the Food and Agriculture Ministry’s (MÉM) NAK Intensive system served as the standard consultation systems for the comparison. The new MTA TAKI – MTA MGKI system confirmed the correctness of the fundamental principles and correlations employed during its creation: with 40-60% of the MÉM NAK intensive system’s NPK doses it ensures high production levels equal to those achieved by the MÉM NAK system and the greatest net income per territorial unit can be achieved through its utilisation.
