Renewable energy sources occupy a central position in all modern energy strategies.
At the same time, political and lobby interests stressing certain attributes, restrict the circle of accepted information and this may result in many half-baked decisions.
Analysing the possible processes of transforming biomass into liquid fuel, from an engineering viewpoint, we attempt to prove that it would be practical to support the validity of the selected technology. This is of great importance, because a new method needs further investments.
According to our examinations, BTL technology perfectly satisfies both the technological and economic requirements of a renewable chemical source of energy.
