Special terrain characteristics play an important role in both variable and constant production costs. Maximum use of grazing grounds can lead to the realistic possibility of reductions in fodder costs. The only method for reducing animal health costs is alteration in animal nutrition standards. Feed production activity in the sheep section of the farm was not profitable between 2001 and 2004. Without support the income position of the farm is unfavourable. Our investigations have shown that profitability of the section can be significantly improved by the full exploitation of all sources of support. As we are dealing with stock breeding, significant revenue could be realised from marketing stock animals. However, because of the poor financial situation of the sheep section, breeders are unable to acquire the stock rams needed to drastically increase the number of lambs for marketing.
